An Giang Provincial Police arrested Bui Van Loi, 71, on 8/10 to investigate charges of sexual assault of a minor.

According to the investigation, at noon on 10/7, Loi was at his younger sibling's rental house in Kien Luong commune, An Giang province. A 10-year-old girl, whose home was nearby, came to ask for food. Loi then decided to assault the girl, luring her into a bedroom. Following the assault, he sent the child away.

After the girl recounted the incident to her family, they reported it to the police. Realizing he was exposed, Loi fled from the locality. He was recently arrested while hiding in Ha Tien ward.
