Y O Nie Hrah, 38, was detained by Tan Lap Ward Police in cooperation with the Investigative Police Agency Office, Dak Lak Provincial Police, after he stabbed a police lieutenant colonel last night.

The incident occurred last night when Tan Lap Ward Police received a report about Y O Nie Hrah. While intoxicated, he returned home and verbally abused his 67-year-old mother, H Doi Nie. He also physically assaulted her and caused a public disturbance in the area.

When a task force arrived at the scene, Y O Nie Hrah refused to cooperate. He cursed at officers, threatened local police with a knife, then retreated into his house and barricaded himself. Given his aggressive behavior, the ward police requested assistance from 113 Police.

Despite repeated calls to drop his weapon and cooperate, Y O Nie Hrah suddenly opened the door. He rushed out with the knife, stabbing Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ba Tien and causing injuries.

Officers immediately subdued Y O Nie Hrah.
