Hanoi police arrested a 25-year-old man on 9/8 for stealing a scooter, phone, and wallet from a woman he had just met. The Phu Dien ward police, in coordination with other relevant units, are preparing a case against Tran Van Linh, a resident of Phu Tho province, for robbery.

Linh has a prior conviction for fraud.

Linh, using the alias Tu, met a woman his age in Phu Dien ward. On the evening of 12/7, he borrowed her Honda Vision scooter for their first date. Upon returning to her street near 151 Doan Ke Thien street, Linh suggested they walk the rest of the way. As she dismounted the scooter, he accelerated and fled, taking the scooter, her iPhone 13, and her wallet, which were inside the under-seat compartment.

Following the victim's report, Phu Dien ward police, in conjunction with other units, apprehended Linh in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province, on 9/8.
