Le Tri Hieu was apprehended immediately after robbing the gold shop on the evening of 18/7.

On the evening of 18/7, Le Van Mien, 66, owner of Mien Vinh Phat gold shop in My Tu commune, was closing his store. At that time, Hieu, a local resident, arrived on a motorbike. Dressed in black, wearing a mask, and carrying a black bag, he asked the owner to stop so he could buy gold. Hieu went directly to the display case, suddenly pulled out a hammer, struck the glass twice, breaking it, and then grabbed five necklaces.
When Hieu attempted to flee to his motorbike, Mr. Mien shouted for help. Together with his son, daughter-in-law, local residents, and police officers, they subdued and apprehended him.
The stolen property, consisting of nearly 8 chi of 15-17K gold, valued at approximately 100 million dong, was recovered by authorities.
Initially, Hieu confessed that he committed the robbery due to significant debt and an inability to repay it. He had prepared the hammer and bag for the crime.
Hieu is currently detained by My Tu Commune Police for further investigation into the robbery.
