Previously, a video circulated on social media showing a boy being repeatedly hit on the head and face by a man at a house in Di An ward. Through verification, police identified the house and invited Quoc for questioning.
Quoc stated that on the afternoon of 4/5, upon returning home from work, he saw his partner's son sleeping in the living room. He then verbally abused the boy, believing the child had not returned home after his midday exam. Despite the boy's attempts to explain that he had gone to a friend's house after the exam, Quoc continued to yell, then rushed forward, pinned the child to the floor, and repeatedly hit him on the face and head. After being beaten, the victim felt dizzy, remained on the spot, and could not walk, immediately calling his mother.
According to the mother, she and Quoc live together but are not legally married, and this was not the first time her son had been beaten by her partner.
Ho Chi Minh City Police warned that all acts harming the health of others, especially child abuse and physical assault against children, are severely punished according to legal regulations. The city police urged residents who discover incidents related to domestic violence or child abuse to promptly report them to authorities for intervention and protection.
