Ngu Hiep Commune Police summoned individuals for questioning on 25/3, investigating suspected disturbing public order and intentionally damaging property, according to Tien Giang Provincial Police.
Ngu Hiep Commune Police previously received a report from Nguyen Tan Hien, 51, a resident of Dak Lak, stating that a group assaulted him and smashed his car while he was buying durian. According to Hien, around 8 p.m. on 19/3, he and four others visited a durian farm in Binh Thanh hamlet, Ngu Hiep commune. By 2:30 a.m. the following day, a conflict erupted during their negotiations. Two members of Hien's group were beaten by individuals at the durian farm, prompting the entire group to leave in their vehicle.
Initial information suggests the durian farm believed Hien's group had not paid for the goods, leading them to pursue in three cars. They caught up near the Hung Long intersection, where they reportedly used chairs to smash the pickup truck's windows and assaulted four people from Hien's group.
After intervention from bystanders, the two groups conversed and realized the incident stemmed from a 'misunderstanding'. The injured individuals were then taken to Tien Giang General Hospital for treatment.
