Ordered by court to apologize, wife turns penalty into expose of affair

Forced by court to post apology videos to her husband for accusing him of infidelity, Niu Na complied with the ruling by revealing the full truth, sparking a storm on Chinese social media.

Ordered by a court to apologize to her husband for publicly exposing his affair, Niu Na followed the directive for 15 days. However, instead of simply erasing traces, she transformed each apology video into a detailed revelation of the truth, captivating audiences across China.

Niu Na, from Sanmenxia city, Henan province, and her husband Gao Fei, a coal mine captain in Yima, had been married for 17 years and have two children.

According to Niu Na, after their marriage, she stayed home to care for her husband and children, living frugally. Last year, she discovered her husband had been having an affair with a female colleague named Han for five years, frequently buying expensive gifts for his mistress. When confronted, Gao Fei assaulted his wife, smashing her phone to destroy evidence and protect his lover.

Niu Na reported the incident to her husband's superior, but he considered it a family matter and refused to intervene. Angered, she exposed their illicit relationship on a forum and a video platform.

Her husband subsequently hired a lawyer to sue Niu Na for defamation. After trial, the local court ruled: Although Gao's actions were wrong and evidence of the affair was clear, Niu Na's act of publicly sharing her husband's personal information online was illegal.

The court ordered Niu Na to delete her previous posts and videos, and to upload public apology videos for 15 consecutive days, pinning them to the top of her personal page for 15 days without deletion.

After losing the lawsuit, Niu Na posted her first video on 12/1. In it, she recounted the events and then sincerely apologized to her husband and his mistress.

"Hello Mr. Gao, I am Niu Na. You and Ms. Han are true loves, and I should not have revealed the truth of your five-year affair to the public," Niu Na began the video. She then presented detailed records of the expenses Gao Fei had incurred for his mistress, taken from their marital assets.

This frank apology directly exposed her husband's five-year affair without violating the court's ruling. The video quickly garnered sympathy from many viewers.

In the second video, Niu Na continued her apology but subtly revealed the couple's workplace, even filming directly in front of the company entrance. This video unexpectedly went viral, earning Niu Na's personal account millions of likes and 130,000 new followers in just three days.

In the third video, Niu Na progressively added details about the affair's timeline and the couple's dating locations, exposing numerous screenshots of chat histories and spending receipts.

Despite her calm appearance in the videos, Niu Na stated she endured a dark period after discovering her husband's infidelity. In just four months, she lost over 15 kg, required emergency medical attention three times, and was hospitalized multiple times.

Currently, Niu Na continues to post videos and pin them as required by the court, while also preparing to face a divorce lawsuit and a claim for emotional distress from her husband.
