Nguyen Kim My Sen arrested after nearly two years on the run for intentionally hitting a pedestrian

Nguyen Kim My Sen arrested after nearly two years in hiding for intentionally hitting a pedestrian, causing 56% injuries.

On 5/3, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police announced the arrest of Nguyen Kim My Sen, 19, in coordination with Hoa Xuan Ward Police. Sen was apprehended under a warrant for a particularly dangerous fugitive related to intentionally causing injury.

According to the investigation, on the evening of 4/4/2023, Sen and several others prepared weapons, including iron pipes, broad-bladed knives, and pig-sticking knives. This was due to a conflict with a group of young people in Son Tra district (former). They then rode motorbikes through various city streets, seeking their opponents for revenge.

Along the way, the group spotted a 20-year-old man, whom they believed belonged to the rival group, and pursued him through many streets. At the Khuc Hao – Bui Duong Lich intersection in Son Tra ward, the motorbike carrying Sen, traveling at high speed, directly collided with the young man's motorbike. This caused all three people to fall to the road, sustaining severe injuries. Both vehicles were damaged. A forensic examination determined the victim sustained 56% injuries.

Following the incident, the investigative agency initiated a case for intentionally causing injury and disturbing public order, prosecuting many individuals involved. Sen, however, fled the area. On 6/1/2026, Da Nang City Police initiated criminal proceedings against Sen. By 27/1, police issued a warrant for a particularly dangerous fugitive and established a special task force for his apprehension.

Recently, police discovered Sen hiding in TP HCM. In early March, when he secretly returned to Da Nang and hid in Hoa Xuan ward, reconnaissance forces, in coordination with local police, surrounded and arrested him.

The case is currently under investigation.
