Ho Chi Minh City Police are investigating Nguyen Chi Tam, Le Van Cuong, and Pham Ngoc Lung for robbery, authorities announced on 1/12.
According to police records, Tam was angered by his wife's romantic relationship with An. He arranged a meeting with An, bringing a gun and inviting Cuong and Lung with the intent of confronting An out of jealousy.
On 27/10/2024, Tam's group arrived at the designated meeting spot on the Saigon River bank in An Phu Dong ward, former District 12. As soon as An arrived on his motorbike, the group attacked, causing him to flee. Tam then drew his gun and fired three warning shots into the air before he, Cuong, and Lung pursued An on motorbikes. When they caught up, they assaulted and threatened An, stealing his motorbike and phone. Police received the victim's report and subsequently arrested the group.
Investigators also seized several pieces of evidence, including a vehicle with engine number HC09E0045242 and a Suzuki Xbike motorbike (license plate 59Z1-002.20, engine number F4A2106626, frame number RLSBF45R080100986), whose owner has not yet been identified.
Ho Chi Minh City Police urge anyone who is the legal owner of these vehicles to contact the Criminal Police Department for cooperation. If the vehicles remain unclaimed after 30 days, police will handle them according to regulations.
