The Da Nang Police Criminal Investigation Department announced on 20/9 that they have initiated a case, charged suspect Ho Nhat Thong, 24, residing in Tay Ho commune, and temporarily detained him for murder and illegal use of military weapons.

According to initial investigations, the incident occurred around 7:45 PM on 31/5. Nguyen Van Tuan, 31, residing in Thang Truong commune, was talking with a 21-year-old woman from Ha Tinh in front of a rented room in Thach Tan residential group, Ban Thach ward.

Believing the two were causing noise, Thong opened his door to remind them to be quieter. Tuan responded that they were just talking normally, and Thong retreated into his room. Approximately 5 minutes later, Thong emerged again, looked over, and a loud argument ensued with Tuan before Thong closed his door.

A moment later, Tuan walked past Thong's rented room to retrieve his helmet from his motorbike. At this point, Thong suddenly emerged with a knife, pushed Tuan against a wall, and then repeatedly stabbed him in the body and forehead before fleeing the scene.

Tuan suffered a 10% injury.
