On 3/7, Le Minh Phuong, 40, a sanitation worker for Saigon Garment Company 3, discovered a green sack amidst water hyacinths while cleaning an embankment behind the facility. Upon inspection, he found dismembered remains, including a missing head and other separated body parts, prompting him to alert the police.
Authorities initially identified the victim as a female, estimated to be 40-50 years old, approximately 1,6 meters tall, and of average build. She likely had long dark brown hair, pink fingernails and toenails, and no tattoos. She was found wearing a sleeveless t-shirt, underwear, and black shorts.
Initial forensic examinations indicated the victim had died more than 4 days before the body was discovered.
Alongside the investigation, Ho Chi Minh City Police launched a public appeal, urging residents to provide information and report any crimes. Valuable tips from the community significantly aided investigators in identifying the victim as a 45-year-old woman from the former Binh Duong province.
