Around 6 p.m. today, detectives from the Criminal Police Department, Hai Phong City Police, located Chien, 41, from Kien Minh commune, hiding under the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway overpass, along Pham Van Dong street, Duong Kinh ward.

Chien's hiding spot contained a mattress, mat, food, and syringes. Authorities transported the suspect to the Criminal Police Department headquarters for further investigation.

According to Hai Phong City Police, around 11 p.m. on July 22, Tran Thi Anh, 37, was sitting on her motorbike along National Highway 10, in front of Viet Uc Hotel, Luu Kiem ward, when Chien repeatedly stabbed her.

Despite being discovered and rushed to emergency care by residents, Anh succumbed to her injuries. After the attack, Chien fled on a blue Wave motorbike.

The initial investigation determined the motive to be a romantic dispute between Chien and the victim.
