Father beats 9-year-old son, hospitalizing him for forgetting school bag

A father, angered by his 9-year-old son forgetting his school bag for school, reportedly used a plastic pipe to repeatedly strike the boy, leading to his hospitalization with multiple bruises.

On 24/7, leaders of Minh Hoa commune People's Committee stated that the commune police are investigating and processing Mr. Dinh Xuan Huong, 34, for assaulting his biological child, causing injury.

Four nights prior, the Minh Hoa Regional General Hospital admitted a 9-year-old boy presenting with multiple bruises on his buttocks, back, arms, and around his eyes. X-ray and ultrasound results indicated soft tissue damage, with no deep internal organ injuries detected.

Initially, family members told doctors the child had fallen. Suspecting unusual circumstances, local authorities initiated an investigation.

On the morning of 21/7, Mr. Huong reported to the Minh Hoa commune People's Committee and admitted to hitting his son with a plastic water pipe out of anger because the child forgot his school bag for school.

After the assault, family members took the boy to the hospital for treatment. On 22/7, the family requested his discharge to transfer him to a higher-level hospital for further examination of his injuries.

The family has two children, and the boy is the eldest. He is officially registered in Kim Phu commune and is currently temporarily residing in Minh Hoa commune.
