Suspect broke into ex-girlfriend's home before killing a mother and two children in Dong Nai

Nguyen Duc Anh, 21, was found with a knife attempting to break into his ex-girlfriend's house, then proceeded to a neighboring home, attacking a family of four and causing the deaths of a mother and her two children.

On 3/9, Dong Nai Police arrested Duc Anh, a resident of Ho Nai ward, for investigation into murder. He was identified as the suspect in the attack on Nguyen Van Quang's family in Bui Chu hamlet, Binh Minh commune. The incident resulted in the deaths of Quang's wife and two children, and left Quang severely injured.

Around 1:53 AM, Binh Minh Commune Police received a report of an intruder at Quang's house and dispatched officers to the scene. Police found Quang lying unconscious about 15 meters from his house gate, with multiple injuries, and he was taken to the emergency room. Residents reported that the young man had previously chased and repeatedly slashed Quang before retreating and barricading himself inside the house.

Police surrounded the house and urged the person inside to come out. About 20 minutes later, Duc Anh opened the house door and gate and emerged, where he was apprehended. The suspect had multiple injuries on his body. Upon checking the house, police discovered Quang's wife, Ho Thi Mai, 36, deceased and the two children unconscious. The children, an 11-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter, were taken to the emergency room but did not survive. Quang is currently being treated for multiple injuries.

According to initial information, before the incident, Duc Anh was in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl living next to Quang's house. The girl initiated the breakup, but Duc Anh did not accept it, repeatedly sending threatening messages.

Around 1:50 AM on 3/9, Dinh Van Rung, the girl's father, and his family were sleeping when they heard noises near the bathroom and woke up to investigate. Rung discovered Duc Anh on the rooftop, near the skylight, holding a knife and attempting to force open a door to break in. Rung told the young man to leave, stating that his daughter and Anh had broken up. According to Rung, Duc Anh then threatened to kill him and his family. Rung stated he had reported the incident to the police.

Duc Anh then went to Quang's house next door. When discovered by the homeowner, the suspect reportedly attacked Quang, his wife, and children. The victim's house door was locked.
