Hanoi City Police's Investigation Department has indicted Thang, 22, from Bac Ninh province, for infringing industrial property rights.
Thang stated he acquired various batches of men's and women's clothing from unverified sources, consolidating them at his business premises in Ninh Hiep industrial park, Phu Dong commune. On 23/6, Phu Dong Commune Police, in coordination with market management forces, conducted a surprise inspection of Thang's facility. Inside, authorities discovered men's clothing bearing counterfeit D&G, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Nike, and Adidas brand labels. These luxury brands are all protected in Vietnam.
Authorities discovered a total of 2,575 products, with a listed value exceeding 264 million VND. This equates to approximately 100,000 VND per item. None of the seized goods had invoices or documents proving their origin.
Representatives from the brands and the industrial property appraisal conclusion from the National Institute of Intellectual Property confirmed that all the seized items were counterfeit.
