Nguyen Ngoc Chuc, 25, was arrested by traffic police in Dak Lak province yesterday afternoon while attempting to escape on a passenger bus. He is suspected of snatching a gold necklace in Gia Lai province.

The Krong Buk Traffic Police Station received a request for coordination from criminal police to apprehend Chuc. He was identified as the suspect in a gold necklace snatching who was fleeing from Gia Lai to Dak Lak by passenger bus.

At 14h25, a task force signaled a suspicious passenger bus to stop on National Highway 14 in Cuor Dang commune. Chuc was then arrested.

During initial questioning at the police station, Chuc confessed to snatching a gold necklace from a woman on the street in Gia Lai province at noon on 10/5. He stated that he sold the necklace for 18 million dong.

On the morning of 16/5, the Dak Lak Provincial Traffic Police Department handed over Chuc, who resides in Thong Nhat ward, to Gia Lai Provincial Police for further investigation and processing related to property snatching.
