The instructions regarding number translation (specifically, "For standalone cardinal numbers one, two, and three, write them out as 'mot', 'hai', and 'ba' respectively" and "Write ordinal numbers one, two, and three as 'thu nhat', 'thu hai', and 'thu ba' respectively in English") contradict the overarching goal of creating a "natural and engaging to English readers" article that "doesn't read like a translation" and "adheres to English journalistic standards." Adhering to these specific number rules would result in an unnatural and confusing English text.In this particular article, the numbers "500" and the dates "10/11", "20/11" do not fall under the problematic "one, two, three" rule, allowing for a natural English translation using numerals. However, if numbers one, two, or three were present, a conflict would arise.
On the morning of 20/11, Quang Tri Ward Police announced that they served legal documents at the residence of the man on Nguyen Trai Street, as part of an investigation into the illegal appropriation of property.
Representatives from the regional prosecutor's office and members of the neighborhood committee were present during the serving of the documents.
The incident began on 10/11 when Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, a resident of Quang Tri province, was conducting a personal transaction via phone. Due to a network error during the process, she mistakenly transferred nearly 500 million VND to an account registered under the name NGUYEN THE LU.
Upon realizing the error, Ms. Thuy verified that the funds had been sent to his account.
She repeatedly attempted to contact him by phone, message, and in person to request the return of the mistakenly transferred funds, but he remained uncooperative. Unable to retrieve her money, she reported the incident to the police.
Quang Tri Ward Police are currently investigating the case.
