Using a screwdriver to smash car windows in a villa area, stealing money from vehicles

Pham Minh Tan has been arrested, accused of using a screwdriver to smash the windows of two cars in a villa complex to steal phones and cash.

Previously, on the evening of 28/4, Tan and Van traveled by motorbike from Hanoi to Lang Son, seeking opportunities for theft. They stopped after noticing a villa and terraced house area near National Highway 1A, where numerous cars were parked unattended.

At 2:30 AM on 30/4, Tan and Van entered the Catalan villa area. Spotting a VF9 parked by the road, Tan used a screwdriver to smash its window and steal a phone from inside.

About 200 meters further, the duo discovered a white Peugeot containing a stack of money, and Tan proceeded to smash its window as well.

Within 24 hours of investigation, the police apprehended the two suspects and recovered the money they had spent in Hai Phong.
