Woman indicted for posting defamatory content about 'rival' on Facebook, TikTok

Vo Van Thuc Vy, 31, faces charges after posting seven articles on social media, allegedly defaming a woman with whom she had a financial dispute.

Dong Nai Police indicted Vo Van Thuc Vy, a resident of Dau Giay commune, on 9/2. She was released on bail and is under investigation for "abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals".

Vy operates the Facebook account "Vo Van Thuc Vy" and the TikTok account "Vy Japan". Between 5/9/2025 and 2/10/2025, she allegedly published seven posts, including images and videos, about a woman from Tran Bien ward. These posts, shared across various online groups, stemmed from a financial dispute.

Investigators concluded that the content posted by Vy was unsubstantiated and unverified. It severely defamed the victim's reputation and honor, while also revealing private information about the individual and her family online.
