On 27/3, Hue City Police initiated a criminal case, charged, and temporarily detained Nguyen Kim Tuan, 25, from Pho Nam A village, Quang Dien commune. He is under investigation for causing a fatal traffic accident due to alcohol impairment.

The incident occurred on 14/2, around 3 h, when Tuan was driving a motorbike with a passenger. As he turned left into a concrete road leading to Pho Nam A village near the Tan Xuan Lai village gate in Quang Dien commune, he collided with an 85-year-old woman who was walking across the road.

The elderly woman died as a result of the accident. Tuan sustained a fractured right collarbone and a forehead injury, and his vehicle was damaged.

Police investigations revealed that Tuan's blood alcohol content was 139,88 mg/100 ml at the time of the collision. He also violated several traffic safety regulations, including failing to observe, not controlling his speed, and not adhering to the correct lane while driving.
