At Ha Yen school, the storm winds completely destroyed the restroom area, toppled the parking shed's fence, and damaged many facilities, creating unsafe conditions and disrupting teaching activities. The estimated cost for repairs is 260 million VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Tra, the school's vice principal, remains haunted by the sight of thick, soft mud covering the schoolyard and classrooms as the floodwaters receded. Desks, chairs, and textbooks were washed away, and many pieces of equipment were stuck in treetops, leaving teachers and students feeling helpless.
"We didn't know how to find the resources to fix everything", Ms. Tra said.
After a survey, the "Cung dong bao vuot lu" (Helping Compatriots Overcome Floods) program, implemented by Hy Vong Fund - VnExpress newspaper, helped the school rebuild damaged structures and supplement learning materials so students could stabilize their studies quickly. Of the total, 200 million VND came from contributions by Terumo Vietnam Medical Equipment Company Limited, and 60 million VND from customers, partners, employees of HTAUTO Vietnam Company Limited, and VnExpress readers.
Leaders of Tuy An Dong commune acknowledged this as a timely resource that helped the locality address difficulties after the historic flood.
