On the evening of 15/6, 43-year-old bus driver Zhou Yu was driving through Zhoushan city, Zhejiang province, when he suddenly fell ill. Onboard surveillance cameras recorded his 2-minute and 20-second effort to control the situation.
At 6:33 PM, a heart attack caused Zhou Yu to slump forward. Within 16 seconds, his body slumped four times before he managed to straighten up. He pressed the brake pedal, bringing the bus to a stop at an intersection and maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. His body then leaned back into the driver's seat. Approximately 43 seconds later, he strained forward again, pressing the brake pedal firmly once more to activate the vehicle's full braking system. The driver then collapsed, but his right foot remained pressed firmly on the brake until he lost consciousness completely.
