Fireworks illuminate 55-story tower in Ho Chi Minh City

On New Year's Eve, the area around Ba Son Bridge and the Saigon Marina IFC tower was packed with people watching fireworks and taking photos.

Precisely at midnight, a fireworks display marking the New Year was launched from the 36th to 55th floors of the Saigon Marina IFC tower. From the tower's facade, continuous clusters of fireworks burst, spreading brilliant light and creating fan-shaped and revolving light effects around the structure. Various pyrotechnic effects, including low-level and glitter fireworks, were intricately combined.

The tower's entire facade was covered in brilliant red LED lights, reflecting onto the water. This created a striking visual amidst the modern urban landscape, framed by Ba Son Bridge and the high-rise buildings along both riverbanks.

The fireworks display points were choreographed with a clear climax structure, launched from the tower's 36th-43rd and 54th-55th floors. The pyrotechnic effects, combined with modern LED technology, created a multi-sensory spectacle.

The fireworks lasted approximately 15 minutes. A representative from Saigon Marina IFC stated that the event utilized 90 low-level firework rigs, 47 assorted flower-spray rigs, and 4,160 pyrotechnic tubes.

Many people used their phones to capture the moment of transition into the new year.

The Saigon Marina IFC flower park at night was illuminated by a synchronized, music-programmed lighting system, creating a sparkling and vibrant space. The flower street was open from 30/1 to 3/3 (from the 12th day of the twelfth lunar month to the 15th day of the first lunar month).

The Saigon Marina International Financial Centre (Saigon Marina IFC), located in the Ba Son area, is scheduled to commence operations in August 2025. The project aims to be a hub connecting financial, economic, and creative activities, contributing to shaping a new development space for the central urban area. The 55-story tower is covered by a lighting system spanning nearly 39,000 square meters, capable of projecting large-scale moving content visible from many surrounding areas.

A young couple chose the area near Ba Son Bridge as their New Year's Eve rendezvous point, offering a full view of the fireworks. Minh (27) shared that he and his girlfriend arrived at 20h to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the transition moment. Minh noted this was their first time watching fireworks from a high-rise tower in the city center.

"It felt both overwhelming and heartwarming amidst the cheers and brilliant lights," Minh shared. "We hope for a peaceful New Year, smooth work, and to share many more beautiful moments like this together."

Beyond the fireworks display, the plaza at Saigon Marina IFC featured a flower street exhibition over 300 meters long. It showcased hundreds of pots of chrysanthemums, apricot blossoms, marigolds, sunflowers, along with the Golden Horse mascot – a symbol of prosperity and breakthrough. The organizers arranged miniature landscapes with swings, bamboo bridges, and interactive photo zones, enhancing the lively atmosphere.
