The Southern Aesthetic Dermatology Conference 2026 (SCAD 2026), an annual medical forum hosted by Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, took place at GEM Center in Saigon Ward on 29/3. The event attracted many national and international doctors and specialists, who focused on updating new advancements in skin treatment and care, and fostered diverse academic discussions.
During the program, Cocoon presented a scientific report titled "Optimizing the synergistic effectiveness of technology and active ingredients in sensitive skin cleansing". The report addressed a familiar yet challenging problem: how to cleanse effectively while preserving the skin's protective barrier.

The report identified a dilemma in sensitive skin care: aggressive cleansing increases the risk of damage, while gentle cleansing often leads to doubts about its effectiveness. Instead of viewing these two factors as opposing forces, the brand harmonizes them through the synergy of technology and active ingredients.
This synergistic approach guided the development of the Hau Giang lotus facial cleanser, a multi-tasking solution for sensitive skin. A representative explained that Lamellar technology combines soothing, deeply moisturizing ingredients like lotus extract, madecassoside, and beta-glucan (prebiotic). This formulation targets a gentle yet powerful cleansing experience, essential for sensitive skin.

Attendees engaged in deep discussions about Cocoon's research approaches, revealing a clear trend: vegan cosmetics, and specifically the Hau Giang lotus facial cleanser, now require scientific validation of their efficacy, moving beyond mere subjective perception.
In parallel with the academic sessions, the brand established an experience zone. Here, guests could directly explore products and engage with brand representatives, bridging theory and practice. Discussions focused on key concerns such as cleansing efficacy, sensitive skin compatibility, and how the products support the skin's protective barrier.

A brand representative observed that the strong interest from attendees signaled a notable shift: professionals are becoming more receptive to new approaches, provided these are grounded in clear, scientific principles.
"As the event concluded, Cocoon not only marked its presence with 1,000 guest experiences but also contributed to a shift in perception", a representative added. "With the boundary between nature and science gradually blurring, vegan cosmetics can move past initial prejudices and meet the stringent standards of the dermatology industry, where efficacy and safety are paramount."
Founded in 2013, Cocoon embraces a philosophy of sustainable development rooted in vegan principles. Its products have earned multiple international certifications, including those from PETA, Cruelty Free International, and Vegan Society – organizations known for their stringent requirements for vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics.
Last year, Guardian Vietnam confirmed that Cocoon sold over one million products across its network, making it the best-selling brand in the retail chain.
