On the morning of 28/3, the atmosphere in Dai Phan Gia village, Tuixixi county, Anhui province, was bustling. Leading the wedding procession, alongside luxury vehicles like Land Rover and Mercedes, were nine yellow septic tank trucks.
All the specialized vehicles were meticulously cleaned, adorned with fresh flowers on their hoods, and bore the 'Double Happiness' character. A red banner stretched across their sides read: "Colleagues wish Septic King Haonan a joyful wedding".

Groom Pan Haonan, 30 years old, works in septic tank pumping and environmental sanitation services. Half a month before his big day, he conceived the idea of inviting colleagues online to bring their specialized vehicles for the wedding procession. Surprisingly, over 50 vehicle owners responded. Due to the narrow village roads, he could only confirm a list of nine trucks. The convoy, arriving from Shandong, Hubei, and Hefei, gathered in Anhui just before the wedding.
However, behind the grand wedding procession was a story of overcoming prejudice. Bride Li Yaqing's family initially held reservations about her future son-in-law's profession. Her younger brother even cried for an hour out of embarrassment upon learning his sister was in love with a sanitation worker.
Ignoring all criticism, Yaqing stood firm in her decision. The young woman left her stable teaching job to help her future husband's family. Occasionally, she could be seen riding in the cabin, accompanying her fiance on waste collection routes.
"Honest manual labor, earning money cleanly, is what I value most," Yaqing shared. "When he suggested using septic tank trucks as our wedding cars, I immediately agreed because I found it had its own unique romance."

In reality, this "less glamorous" profession generates an enviable income. Haonan himself graduated with a degree in film choreography in Chengdu. After six years constrained by office work, in 2023, he decided to return to his hometown and follow in his family's footsteps – who had been committed to environmental sanitation for 20 years.
Currently, his family's company operates three specialized vehicles with six workers. The profits from their work have allowed them to acquire luxury homes and cars like Mercedes and Audi for transportation. Leveraging his media-savvy mindset, Haonan also records daily work videos and posts them online, attracting over 60,000 followers.
"This job is tough, but if you stick with it, a salary of 10,000 yuan (approximately 35 million VND) per month in small cities is quite common," groom Haonan revealed.
This success is also why Haonan's wedding brought together many successful professionals in the field. Among the vehicles in the wedding procession that day was a Land Rover belonging to Zhang Guozheng, 36 years old, who operates a pipeline inspection business in Hangzhou, and a Maserati owned by Yu Baoguang, a director who owns over 20 septic tank trucks in Hefei. The wedding coincidentally became a networking event for those dedicated to environmental preservation.
