Long's hometown is in Xiaoxi town, approximately 50 km from the center of Guang'an city, Sichuan province. Immediately after his mother's request, Long sought permission from air traffic control to use his helicopter for the trip. This impromptu decision cut the journey, which usually took over an hour by car, down to just 10 minutes.
Without a paved runway, the landing site was a cracked field in the middle of the village. The arrival of the 7 million yuan (approximately 25 billion VND) helicopter in the rural setting immediately attracted attention. Dozens of local residents stopped their work and gathered to witness the spectacle.

Noticing the neighbors' curiosity, Long invited the elderly residents of the village into the cabin for a few rounds in the sky above their hometown before he flew back to the city alone.
Long stated that he acquired the helicopter in late 2024 and stores it in a private hangar. He also obtained his civilian pilot's license last year and has flown himself home a few times to visit friends. For this trip, the businessman spent about 8,000 yuan (nearly 28 million VND) on fuel and operating costs.
On social media, the story immediately drew two opposing viewpoints. Many praised Long's filial piety for readily indulging his mother's wishes. However, not a few people suggested this was actually a publicity stunt to show off.
"The excuse about lending his car to a friend sounds far-fetched. Obtaining flight permission in China isn't as simple as just deciding to fly. Clearly, he wanted to bring the helicopter to the village to make a statement," one account commented.

Despite facing mixed opinions, Long asserted that he only did what was most convenient within his means to serve his family.
Before Long, several Chinese businessmen have flown private aircraft to their hometowns to avoid traffic congestion, such as the Tang cousins (who flew to Hunan during National Day) and a father named Wang (who took his daughter to Anhui during the Lunar New Year). Using a helicopter helps these families avoid tedious waits on highways and significantly saves travel time.
