Nui Chua - Phuoc Binh National Park, located in Thai An village, Vinh Hai commune, Khanh Hoa province, is often called the "green lung" of the South Central Coast region. Spanning an area of 106,600 hectares, encompassing forests, sea, and semi-desert terrain, it boasts a diverse flora and fauna ecosystem. However, the challenging natural conditions make ecosystem restoration and forest protection more difficult.
In this context, reforesting with seed balls is considered a suitable solution by forestry experts. Seeds are encased in soil and a nutrient mixture, protecting them from harsh natural impacts and allowing them to germinate similarly to natural seed dispersal. The process of making seed balls is not overly complex but offers many benefits, strengthening vegetation cover and improving the unique coastal dry forest ecosystem in Vietnam.

On 16/1, the event "Together with Omo, sow a million green sprouts - cover ten thousand forests" was co-organized by the Omo brand and Nui Chua - Phuoc Binh National Park. Numerous guests collectively created seed balls for the forest. Attendees included representatives from the Department of Forestry and Forest Protection (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), artists, travel bloggers, and nature-loving families. A livestreamed seed ball challenge, aimed at bringing "green fortune" to the mountains and forests, garnered tens of thousands of comments and interactions on the program's fanpage. According to Omo, this activity serves as an innovative educational approach, inspiring the community to participate in environmental protection and restoration in Vietnam.

In 2022, Omo also donated over 20,000 seed balls to Nui Chua - Phuoc Binh National Park. This activity was part of the "Action for a Green Vietnam" program, phase 2021-2025, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Omo brand, part of Unilever Vietnam International Co., Ltd. After five years, the program successfully completed its goal of planting one million trees and sowing 80,000 seed balls across 12 national parks in 21 provinces nationwide (prior to mergers).
The 16/1 event launched the Omo brand's commitment to plant one million trees during the 2026-2030 phase. A representative from the Department of Forestry and Forest Protection praised Unilever's partnership model, through the Omo brand, as a shining example of being "practical, effective, and economical." This initiative contributed to the nation's overall achievement of planting 1.45 billion trees, exceeding the plan by 45% in the 2021-2025 period.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Nhi, Deputy General Director of Communications, External Affairs, and Sustainable Development at Unilever Vietnam, shared, "The one million tree milestone achieved over the past five years is not an end point, but a motivation for Omo to continue its goal of planting another one million trees in the 2026-2030 phase, contributing to climate change response and biodiversity protection."
Amid increasingly complex natural disasters and climate change, the collaboration of the government, businesses, and the community helps protect and restore forests. This is a sustainable solution that helps reduce erosion, landslides, floods, and protects people's livelihoods.
