Residents watch fireworks, welcome new year at Mailand Hanoi City

Thousands of residents from An Khanh, Son Dong, Tay Mo ward, and surrounding areas flocked to Mailand Hanoi City to celebrate, take photos, and await the spectacular new year's eve fireworks.

This Tet, Hanoi enjoyed warm weather, with temperatures averaging 18-22 degrees Celsius. Many young people and families from western Hanoi ventured out early. The Home Hanoi Xuan 2026 flower street at Mailand Hanoi City became a popular spot for strolling, taking photos, and anticipating new year's eve.

Families gathered at the horse mascot area of the Home Hanoi Xuan 2026 flower street for souvenir photos. Amidst the decorative lights and golden blooms, generations stood together, capturing the transition from the old year to the new.

Mr. Bao, 66, wearing a white shirt, stated his family resides in Thanh Xuan ward. Previously, they celebrated the new year at home. This year, seeking a different atmosphere, they came to Mailand Hanoi City. Despite the fireworks being distant, the family viewed it as a relaxing pre-new year excursion.

Nguyen Thi Trang, 30, a Mailand Hanoi City resident, has celebrated the new year there for years. She noted this year's flower street was more beautifully adorned, boasting diverse, colorful flowers like chrysanthemums and sunflowers. She and seven family members walked along the street, admiring the blooms, taking photos, and wishing for a healthy new year.

Beyond photography, people also hung their wishes, preserving these inaugural moments of the new year.

At midnight, the fireworks display commenced, transforming Mailand Hanoi City into a vibrant light spectacle lasting about 10 minutes. Spectators from the flower street converged in front of the Pont de Long Bien pedestrian street, marveling at the dazzling fireworks—a traditional new year welcoming ritual.

A mother embraced her son, both gazing skyward to watch the fireworks.

Nearby, an elderly man meticulously filmed the beautiful sky during the new year's first moments. Amidst the brilliant light and cheers, he smiled, preserving the occasion in his unique way.

A middle-aged couple captured souvenir photos and conveyed new year wishes to their extended family via phone.

A young girl, perched on her father's shoulders, watched the new year's eve fireworks, excitedly exclaiming, "Fireworks!" and "This one's blue, that one's red..."

Elsewhere, a woman made a video call to relatives overseas, sharing the fireworks display with them remotely.

As fireworks illuminated the sky, many exchanged new year wishes for health and peace in the coming year.

After more than 10 minutes, the fireworks concluded. Residents continued strolling along the Home Hanoi Xuan 2026 flower street before heading home to celebrate Tet with their families.
