On the six-year anniversary of Bridger's heroic act to save his sister on 9/7/2020, Robert Walker shared a composite photo of his son's appearance before and after the accident, along with an update on his current life.

At age 12, the long scar running down Bridger's left cheek has faded and now blends with his skin. Robert stated: "Bridger is very healthy. The scar causes no issues and is healing well."

His family avoids viewing their son as a victim or letting the scar define him. They aim to preserve the resilience and love he demonstrated for his sister.

On 9/7/2020, then six-year-old Bridger saw his four-year-old sister Brielle under attack by a German shepherd. Without hesitation, he positioned himself between the dog and his sister. Despite sustaining multiple bites to his head and face, he pulled his sister to safety before adults intervened.

He then underwent nearly two hours of surgery, requiring about 90 stitches. When asked by relatives why he acted, Bridger famously replied: "If someone had to die, I thought it should be me."

Following the surgery and unexpected media attention, Bridger's life gradually normalized. He now dedicates most of his time to his studies and training in jiu-jitsu, muay thai, boxing, and soccer. He plays as a defender for his school's soccer team.

For his 12th birthday in May, Robert shared that Bridger's greatest wish was for all siblings to skip school for one day to spend the entire day together.

After the initial media attention subsided, Bridger's story continued to inspire community values. In early July, the toy company Valaverse introduced an action figure named Pulse, modeled after the boy's image and bravery. A portion of the product's revenue supports a charity founded by Bridger.

Robert and his wife also published a children's book, You Can Be a Hero, which promotes values such as responsibility, initiative, and compassion.

In the book's preface, Robert wrote: "A hero is someone who consistently does the right thing every day. No matter how difficult or frightening, they always try their best."
