The plight of a woman with 16 kg breasts

Mother of two Melissa Ashcroft is living in pain and helplessness due to her oversized breasts, which prevent her from holding her children, and she is now appealing to the community for help with surgery costs.

Melissa Ashcroft, 30, from Blairgowrie, claims to have "the largest breasts in the UK." Her excessively large chest has become a significant physical burden, draining her energy and making it incredibly difficult for her to get out of bed each day.

This suffering has plagued Melissa along with chronic back pain. Recently, she was diagnosed with a slipped disc and a dislocated shoulder, both attributed to the excessive weight of her breasts.

According to Melissa, she inherited this genetic trait from her mother and grandmother. From the age of 18, despite her small stature weighing 40-52 kg, her breasts developed unusually. This led to constant teasing from friends and rumors of secret cosmetic surgery.

The most painful aspect for this mother is her helplessness in being unable to hold her 8-month-old daughter. Simple tasks like cleaning the house also exhaust her. Each morning, Melissa must grit her teeth to perform back stretches before she can walk. Her unique physical condition also brings financial pressure, as she has to order custom-made bras costing 82 GBP (approximately 2,800,000 VND) each.

At 20, she wanted breast reduction surgery, but doctors advised her to wait until after childbirth. However, after two births, her hope for surgery under the National Health Service (NHS) completely collapsed. Last year, health officials refused the surgery because her body mass index (BMI) reached 35 (obesity grade 2), exceeding the permissible standard. To undergo safe surgery and avoid the risk of complications during anesthesia, she was required to reduce her weight to 70 kg.

This recommendation trapped Melissa in a vicious cycle. The excessive weight of her breasts, coupled with constant pain, hindered her physical activity. "I'm desperate because I can't run due to the pain, and I don't dare go to the gym because I'm self-conscious about my appearance," she shared. Despite being advised to take weight-loss injections, she firmly refused, having witnessed severe complications in a relative.

Currently, Melissa is appealing to the online community to raise 8,000 GBP (approximately 280,000,000 VND) for surgery at a private hospital, aiming to remove the 16 kg breast mass.

"Raising enough money for the surgery will completely change my life. I just wish I could live without pain and comfortably hold my children, running and playing in the park," the mother shared.
