Tips for using quick wash mode

Quick wash saves time and is ideal for daily wear and workout clothes; however, users must select the appropriate load size and detergent.

For individuals who frequently run, hit the gym, play pickleball, or cycle, their clothes often need prompt washing after each activity. Sweaty workout gear left too long in the laundry hamper can develop odors, and a packed schedule often requires items to be cleaned quickly for the next session. In these situations, the quick wash mode on a washing machine can significantly reduce waiting time.

Quick wash is a program that shortens the wash cycle by optimizing the washing, rinsing, and spinning steps. Depending on the machine model and settings, the cycle duration can range from 15-30 minutes.

However, a shorter cycle demands careful usage. Clothes have less contact time with water and detergent, and the water volume and number of rinse cycles may be optimized. Overloading the machine or using an unsuitable detergent can result in clothes not being cleaned thoroughly or leaving residue after washing.

Lack of lasting fragrance after quick wash is often due to three main reasons: leaving sweaty clothes too long before washing; overloading the machine; and using the wrong detergent dosage. Photo: Omo

Specifically, the effectiveness of quick wash depends on the load size, the degree of dirt, how clothes are sorted, and the amount of detergent used.

For clothes with sweat odors after exercise, wash them promptly instead of leaving damp items in the hamper for days. Users should also avoid overloading the washing machine. A moderate load, approximately 1,5 kg to under 4 kg, allows detergent to penetrate fabric surfaces better and aids in thorough rinsing.

The amount of laundry detergent should be balanced according to the load size and dirt level, following the product packaging instructions. Typically, 60-65 ml of detergent is recommended for 3-4 kg of clothes.

Avoid using excessive detergent, believing that more cleaning agent will lead to cleaner clothes. Too much foam can make it difficult for the quick wash cycle to rinse completely, especially if the machine performs only one rinse, increasing the risk of residue on fabric.

Additionally, quick wash is better suited for lightly soiled clothes that need refreshing or deodorizing after a single use. For clothes heavily soiled with mud, grease, or stubborn stains, users should pre-treat them and select a more intensive wash program.

For sportswear, check the manufacturer's care label to choose the appropriate water temperature, spin speed, and program to minimize impact on the material and shape.

The shorter the wash cycle, the more the detergent formula needs to dissolve quickly and produce little foam for effective cleaning and minimal residue. Photo: Omo

Regarding detergent types, quick wash does not strictly require a specific detergent. However, for a short cycle, a product that dissolves quickly, cleans fast, and produces little foam can enhance the washing process, especially for loads needing completion in a short timeframe.

First, the detergent must dissolve and disperse rapidly in water so that active ingredients can contact clothes from the beginning of the cycle. If the detergent takes too long to dissolve, the already short cleaning duration of quick wash can be compromised.

Next is odor treatment capability. For workout clothes, sweat and body odor are factors users want to eliminate, even if they are not always visible. Therefore, cleaning and odor-treating capabilities play a crucial role when washing sportswear.

Finally, rinse performance is important. When rinse time is shortened, a low-foam, fast-dissolving formula can help minimize residue left on clothes after the cycle.

These are the factors Omo Sieu toc focuses on addressing. According to information from the brand, in 2026, the Unilever Assessment Laboratory researched and launched Omo Sieu toc, a product developed for washing machine quick cycles, aiming for effective cleaning in a short time.

The product features Pro-S technology with three main components: Pro-Speed, Pro-Scent, and Pro-Sense. Pro-Speed activates cleaning agents early in the cycle, assisting with stain treatment in a short time. Pro-Scent aids in odor elimination and fragrance retention, targeting sweat odors on clothes after exercise. Pro-Sense has a fast-dissolving, low-foam formula, supporting the rinsing process in quick wash cycles.

For people who exercise regularly or need to wash clothes quickly, combining the correct load size, selecting the appropriate program, and using a detergent with compatible properties for quick cycles can optimize washing effectiveness. Lightly soiled clothes that need refreshing after a single use are particularly well-suited to benefit from quick wash.
