The three schools receiving the computer labs are Luong The Vinh Junior Secondary School, Vo Truong Toan Junior Secondary School, and Phan Boi Chau Junior Secondary School, serving a total of 2,100 students annually. These schools are located in remote, border-adjacent areas of An Giang province, where educational facilities are often limited.
Each computer lab is fully equipped with modern computers and peripherals, including monitors, CPUs, keyboards, mice, headphones, a server, an Internet connection system, and standard desks and chairs. This comprehensive setup is designed to support long-term teaching and learning needs while ensuring stable operation.
The new computer labs will significantly enhance the schools' ability to teach computer science and technology-related subjects. Students will gain improved access to digital resources and opportunities to develop essential digital skills, which are crucial as the economy and society rapidly transition towards digitalization.

Mr. Phan Thanh Liem, Principal of Luong The Vinh Junior Secondary School, stated that with over 1,200 students annually, the school previously faced significant challenges in teaching computer science. Students often had to share one computer among four or five, limiting individual practice time. With the new labs, the number of students per computer will decrease, allowing for more hands-on practice. The equipment's configuration is well-suited to current requirements, providing better support for teaching in the digital transformation era.
Lam Phuoc Hoa, a student from class 6A3 at Luong The Vinh Junior Secondary School, expressed her enthusiasm for the modern equipment in the new lab, noting that it makes learning more convenient. She can now use the computers to explore history and geography, learn English vocabulary, and participate in online learning activities.

The UOB My Digital Space project is implemented by Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, funded through UOB Vietnam's UOB Heartbeat Run 2025 program. The UOB Heartbeat Run is an annual fundraising event by UOB Group, where all proceeds are donated to social organizations in various countries to improve the lives of children and vulnerable communities.
Since 2023, UOB Vietnam has committed to a five-year fundraising initiative through UOB Heartbeat to equip five computer labs for five schools in the Mekong Delta. This program aims to help students in remote and disadvantaged areas enhance their access to digital education and acquire skills relevant to rapid technological advancements. With the addition of three computer labs in An Giang, UOB Vietnam has now donated a total of six computer labs to remote schools in the area, improving learning conditions for over 3,200 students.
Ms. Pham Tieu Giang, Head of Brand and Communications at UOB Vietnam, affirmed that the continued deployment of computer labs in An Giang is part of the bank's long-term commitment. With an extensive network across ASEAN and a long-standing presence in Vietnam, UOB aims to create positive, sustainable value for the community. In an era where digital technology and the digital economy are shaping the future, digital education is considered a crucial foundation for the younger generation to seize opportunities, develop themselves, and contribute to society.
In conjunction with the computer lab donations, UOB Vietnam also organizes digital learning workshops for students. Through interactive activities and experiences with volunteers, students learn how to evaluate online information, understand information security principles, protect personal data, and prevent online risks. These activities help students become proactive and informed users in the digital environment.
