The Vu Lan season festival, held at the Waterpoint urban area by the Vam Co Dong river on 23-24/8, drew thousands of residents and guests. This two-day event, running from 14h-19h daily, offered multi-generational bonding experiences.

According to Nam Long, the developer, this activity transcended a mere weekend festival. It served as an opportunity for family members to set aside individual routines, be present with each other, and forge shared memories.

The folk games area, featuring activities like blindfolded drum beating, green bamboo flipping, and duck neck ring tossing, proved popular with families having young children. Laughter, cheers, and friendly competitions kept the zone lively.

Families also engaged in gentle activities reflecting Japanese culture. From wearing kimonos and participating in tea ceremonies to relaxing in the senior healthcare area, each member found a suitable activity. In the Japanese-themed space, over tea and cake, families gathered to chat and enjoy the afternoon.

"Wish wind chimes" became an emotional highlight. Children gathered to decorate wind chimes and write wishes for their loved ones.

"I wish my grandparents and parents always stay healthy, so our family can gather every year," read one of hundreds of wishes from young Waterpoint residents placed on the "wish wind chimes" board at the Vietnamese-Japanese Cultural Village.

In the food court, families refueled after hours of activities. Organizers set up various stalls offering traditional sweet soups, spring rolls, snacks, and beverages. A unique aspect was purchasing food with specially designed leaves, an experience reminiscent of rustic rural markets.

In the evening, thousands gathered at the riverside park to release floating lanterns, sending forth their wishes. The wishes, originally penned on wind chimes, were carried by the river, symbolizing messages of intergenerational love and gratitude.

The Floating Lantern Festival represents another key initiative in building and promoting the core values of the integrated Waterpoint urban area, developed by Nam Long. Each activity, while distinct, aims to foster interaction, sharing, and connection among residents.

According to Nam Long, this event embodies their philosophy of "real value." A company representative stated, "These values are not fully captured on blueprints, but are built daily through moments of encounter, connection, and a sense of belonging, creating a Waterpoint riverside city rich in identity."
