Around 6 p.m. on 25/9, 2 Indian men were riding a motorcycle on Prenn Pass, heading from Da Lat to Dong Nai. Near Datanla Waterfall in Xuan Huong ward, Da Lat, their motorcycle collided with a van traveling in the opposite direction.

The accident caused the 26-year-old man to die at the scene, while his 24-year-old companion was injured and taken to Lam Dong General Hospital for emergency treatment.

At the scene, the motorcycle was lying in the opposing lane with debris scattered around. The van stopped a short distance from the motorcycle, in its direction of travel. The road was wet from rain at the time of the accident.

The injured person was admitted with multiple injuries and received intensive care from doctors. In the early morning of 26/9, at the request of family and friends, the patient was transferred to a hospital in TP HCM for continued treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

Prenn Pass, 7.27 km long, is a key gateway connecting National Highway 20 to central Da Lat. The winding road passes through hills, mountains, and pine forests and was expanded to 4 lanes, opening in early 2024.
