Man in critical condition after lightning strike while riding motorbike

A man riding a motorbike was critically injured after being struck by lightning on the afternoon of 25/9, causing him to swerve off the road. He was rushed to the hospital in a severe state.

Around 11:52 am on 25/9, the Customs roundabout area in Truong Vinh ward experienced thunderstorms and lightning. Many people were traveling on motorbikes and cars on adjacent roads like Truong Thi, Le Hong Phong, and Le Nin Boulevard.

A lightning bolt suddenly struck a man's motorbike as he was navigating the roundabout, traveling from Truong Thi street towards Cua Dong General Hospital. The motorbike swerved, crashing into the roadside, and the man fell to the ground.

A leader from Truong Vinh ward stated that the victim, a resident of Vinh Tan ward (former), was transported by passersby to Nghe An Friendship General Hospital for emergency treatment. He remains in critical condition.

According to the meteorological agency, Nghe An and the Vinh City area (former) experienced showers and thunderstorms on 25/9. These conditions, which included localized whirlwinds and lightning, were due to the influence of the southwestern edge of the continental cold high-pressure ridge.
