The Phong Chau bridge, located on Highway 32C, connects the two banks of the Red River in Lam Thao and Tam Nong districts. On the morning of 9/9/2024, the bridge collapsed, taking with it pier T7 and two main spans. The 249th Brigade was immediately tasked with installing a temporary pontoon bridge about 400 meters downstream as a replacement.
