Helicopters and fighter jets rehearse over Ba Dinh square

On 21/8, a formation of Mi and CASA aircraft practiced flying over Ba Dinh square in Hanoi, preparing for the 80th National Day celebrations.

At 10:30, a formation of 10 helicopters took off from Hoa Lac airport and headed towards central Hanoi. The video shows the helicopters passing over West Lake, approaching the inner city. Video: Huy Manh

The helicopter formation flew over Ba Dinh square and the National Assembly building. For this rehearsal, the Vietnam People's Air Force deployed Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-171, and Mi-172 helicopters.

According to the plan, during the parade on the morning of 2/9, the Air Defense - Air Force will organize 9 flights with 30 aircraft for the celebratory flyover. The aircraft will take off and land at Hoa Lac, Gia Lam (Hanoi), and Kep (Bac Ninh) airports.

As soon as the helicopters finished their display, two CASA C-295 transport aircraft appeared. The CASA C-295 is over 24 meters long, has a wingspan of nearly 26 meters, and a height of over 8.6 meters. It can carry up to 71 people and over 23 tons of cargo. Photo: author or source
