4 people rescued from house fire in Da Lat overnight

A house on Bui Thi Xuan street caught fire overnight, trapping 4 people due to heavy smoke. Firefighters rescued them on the morning of 21/12.

Around 3 h on 21/12, a fire broke out in the kitchen on the ground floor of a house owned by Huynh Tan Cong, 56 years old, located on Bui Thi Xuan street, Xuan Huong ward, Da Lat.

The homeowner managed to escape and alerted neighbors to call the police. Simultaneously, 4 individuals on the second floor became trapped as thick smoke and flames engulfed the area, blocking all escape routes.

The Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police (PCCC - CNCH) of Lam Dong Provincial Police deployed 20 officers to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Outside, a team of police used a ladder truck to access the second floor, broke open the doors, and safely rescued the victims.

The fire destroyed two motorbikes on the ground floor. Additionally, a section of the ceiling was smoke-damaged, and household items were damaged.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
