At approximately 9:10 h, a tractor-trailer with Ho Chi Minh City license plates, transporting alumin, was traveling on National Highway 20 from Da Lat towards Ho Chi Minh City. While descending Bao Loc Pass, at the Our Lady Monument curve in Da Huoai 2 commune, the vehicle unexpectedly collided with the rear of a parked sleeper bus that had no passengers.
Following the initial impact, the tractor-trailer swerved into the oncoming lane, striking a concrete mixer truck and a motorbike.

At the scene, the motorbike was dragged under the tractor-trailer and severely deformed. The two women riding the motorbike managed to jump off in time and escaped injury. All three vehicles involved sustained heavy damage, with shattered glass scattered across the road, blocking nearly the entire width of the pass. The accident paralyzed traffic on Bao Loc Pass in both directions, causing a queue of vehicles stretching for several kilometers.
Traffic police from Lam Dong Provincial Police, in coordination with Da Huoai 2 Commune Police, arrived to manage the scene and redirect traffic from a distance. By 11 h, one lane was cleared, allowing vehicles to slowly pass through the area. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
