The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on 6/1, when a 5-seater car was traveling on national highway 5 from Hanoi to Hai Phong. As it approached the Nhu Quynh overpass in Hung Yen province, a sand truck rear-ended the vehicle.

Following the impact, the 5-seater car spun sideways, its front end colliding with the median barrier. The accident left the car heavily damaged, with a wheel detached and airbags deployed.
