Around 11:15 h, a 34-year-old male driver, residing in Bac Ninh, was driving a four-seater Audi sedan in the direction from Ha Dong to Nga Tu So. As the car approached the area in front of the Thanh Xuan underpass, its front part suddenly ignited.
The driver quickly pulled the car to the side of the road. The fire then spread rapidly, erupting fiercely. Local ward police and self-defense militia used on-site fire extinguishers to put out the fire, but unsuccessfully.
The Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi Police dispatched two fire trucks along with officers and soldiers to the scene. At the same time, Traffic Police Team No. 7 organized traffic diversion, temporarily closing the Thanh Xuan underpass to ensure safety and facilitate firefighting efforts.
By nearly 12:00 h, the fire was completely extinguished. The incident caused no human casualties; however, the four-seater car was damaged in the front by the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.
