Crocodile crawls into resident's home late at night

A freshwater crocodile, over one meter long, unexpectedly entered a resident's yard in Thuan Hoa Ward late on 16/6.

Around 10:15 PM, Vo Thi Thanh Suong of Thuan Hoa Ward discovered the crocodile in her yard. It was over one meter long, with a black back and white belly, weighing over 5 kg.

Ms. Suong notified Thuan Hoa Ward authorities and forest rangers, who arrived to capture it. Initial checks by the forest rangers confirmed it was a freshwater crocodile in stable health.

According to the Hue City Forest Protection Department, this marks the first recorded instance of a crocodile entering a residential home in the area. Hue City does not have any licensed facilities or parks for keeping crocodiles.

The Hue City Forest Protection Department is currently housing and caring for the crocodile, and is coordinating with wildlife rescue agencies for its transfer.
