The Da Nang City People's Committee has approved an adjusted investment policy for the renovation and expansion of Terminal T1 at Da Nang International Airport, a project valued at nearly 11.3 trillion VND. This significant investment aims to boost the terminal's service capacity to 14 million passengers annually. Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) is the investor for this project.
The adjusted decision, announced on 30/7, details the project's financial structure. Of the nearly 11.3 trillion VND total investment, over 1.3 trillion VND accounts for components already completed. The expansion will utilize over 165,000 square meters of land, comprising 122,800 square meters of existing area and an additional 42,000 square meters to be acquired.
The design includes constructing an additional 96,000 square meters of floor space to comprehensively upgrade passenger processing. Upon completion, Terminal T1 will handle 14 million passengers each year, meeting the planned growth in air transport demand.
Beyond the main terminal, ACV's investment extends to a range of auxiliary facilities: an elevated road, a mechanical and electrical (M&E) technical area, a wastewater treatment plant, a multi-story parking garage integrated with commercial services, additional parking lots, and an internal traffic system.

The project is anticipated to span 41 months. Following the completion of investment preparation procedures, construction is slated to commence in August 2027. The expanded terminal is expected to become operational by January 2029, with the full renovation of the existing terminal concluding in August 2029.
In a related development, ACV began the expansion project for International Passenger Terminal T2 on 19/5. This project, with a capital of nearly 1.5 trillion VND, will increase T2's capacity to 6 million passengers annually, helping to alleviate overcrowding and uphold 5-star service standards.
