Ta Anh Tuan, 57, is from Hanoi; he holds a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting and a master's degree in finance and credit.
Starting his career as a specialist at the Ministry of Finance, Tuan gained extensive experience in the field. He previously served as deputy head of a department within the Ministry of Finance office and later as head of the General Planning Board at the State Treasury.
In 11/2007, he became deputy director general of the State Treasury. Seven years later, he transitioned to director general of the Personnel Organization Department, Ministry of Finance.
He served three years as deputy secretary of the Ministry of Finance's Party Committee before becoming director general of the State Treasury. From 7/2020, he held the position of deputy minister of finance, and two years later, he was rotated to a local position as chairman of the Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee (former).

In 7/2025, Dak Lak province merged with Phu Yen, and Tuan was appointed by the prime minister as chairman of the new Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee. He held this position for eight months before returning to Hanoi to assume the role of deputy minister of finance.
During Tuan's tenure as provincial chairman in 2025, Dak Lak achieved economic growth of 6,68%, reaching 102,000 billion VND. The average GRDP per capita was 80,6 million VND, an increase of more than 13% compared to 2025.
During severe floods in Dak Lak at the end of 2025, he and the provincial leadership implemented measures to minimize human and property damage.
The Ministry of Finance is a government agency responsible for state management of: finance and budget; investment, planning, socioeconomic development; public debt, aid; taxes, fees, and charges; public assets, reserves; customs, accounting, auditing; prices, securities, insurance; bidding; enterprises, collective economy, and business households; economic zones; financial services; statistics; social insurance, health insurance; and representing state capital ownership in enterprises.
The Ministry of Finance is currently led by Minister Nguyen Van Thang. The deputy ministers include Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc and Nguyen Duc Chi, Cao Anh Tuan, Le Tan Can, Tran Quoc Phuong, Nguyen Duc Tam, Ta Anh Tuan.
