Tran Quang Bao, 52, hails from Ha Tinh and holds a doctorate in forestry. He previously served as deputy director general of forestry before becoming director general of forestry under the former Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In 3/2025, following the merger of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Bao was appointed director general of Forestry and Forest Protection under the newly formed Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
In a related development, on 7/10, Tran Van Phuc, a member of the Central Inspection Commission, received Politburo approval to serve as deputy head of the 14th Commission for the 2026-2031 term.
The Central Inspection Commission functions as a specialized inspection and supervision body under the Party Central Committee, carrying out its duties in accordance with the Party Charter. This body is instrumental in advising and assisting the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat in guiding the Party's inspection, supervision, and disciplinary work.
Currently, Tran Sy Thanh chairs the commission, which includes 9 deputy chairmen and 13 members.
