A 9-month-old infant died and two adults were injured when a car driven by Ngo Van Hoa, 50, collided with a concrete median barrier on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway. The accident occurred at approximately 10:50 on 19/12, in Khe Tre commune, Hue City. Hoa told authorities he fell asleep at the wheel due to long-distance driving.

Ngo Van Hoa, residing in Da Nang City, was transporting his son, daughter-in-law Tran Thi Diem Huong, 20, and grandson Ngo Minh Quan. The impact severely damaged the front of the Quang Nam-registered car. Hoa sustained minor eye injuries, and Diem Huong suffered hand injuries. Tragically, Ngo Minh Quan fell into a coma and died despite emergency treatment. His son was unharmed.

The accident took place on a two-lane section of the expressway currently undergoing expansion by contractors. Authorities arrived at the scene to manage traffic, conduct an examination, and investigate the cause of the incident.
