Mr. Lo Van Lan, 57, and his wife, residents of Quang Phong village, died at the scene. The two other victims and the truck driver sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Around 9h, an excavator-carrying truck with Nghe An license plates was traveling down Chuoi slope in Muong Quang commune (formerly part of Que Phong district). Upon reaching a sharp bend, the truck suddenly overturned, crushing a motorbike carrying Mr. Lo Van Lan and his wife, who were traveling in the same direction in front of it. Another couple on a motorbike behind them was also hit by the rolling excavator.

At the scene, the excavator-carrying truck and one motorbike were severely damaged, while the other motorbike had a broken fairing. Debris from the vehicles was scattered, and oil was spilled across the road.
The Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police coordinated with Muong Quang Commune Police to direct traffic. By 15h, the scene was cleared.

Chuoi slope, located on National Highway 16, is about 3 km long and 6 m wide, characterized by a steep gradient and many sharp bends.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
