Nearly 8.5 billion VND supports people and students in Ca Mau

46 disadvantaged households received new homes, and over 250 students saw improved learning conditions through a support program worth nearly 8.5 billion VND in Ca Mau.

On 4/9, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency - Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with Ca Mau Provincial Police and the Dream Maker Foundation (DMF), sponsored by VNG Corporation, handed over 46 homes to disadvantaged households, along with school facilities and one civil bridge in the province.

The 46 homes were built in Ganh Hao commune (23 units), Gia Rai ward (12 units), and Dinh Thanh commune (11 units). Among these, 22 homes measure 40 m2, with a construction cost of 108 million VND each; the remaining 24 homes are 50 m2, valued at 123 million VND each. Each house includes a living room, one to two bedrooms, and a restroom, providing families with stable and safe accommodation.

In addition to housing assistance, the program included new construction, repairs, renovations, and equipment upgrades for four schools: Huong Sen Kindergarten and Phong Thanh Primary School in hamlet 23, Gia Rai ward; and Vang Anh Kindergarten and Dang Thuy Tram Primary School in Hoa Phong hamlet, Dinh Thanh commune. These improvements focused on essential needs such as kindergarten classrooms, restrooms, facilities, and teaching equipment, thereby enhancing the learning and living conditions for over 250 students.

In hamlet 23, Gia Rai ward, over 30 kindergarten children aged 4-5 previously had to use primary school classrooms due to a lack of dedicated facilities. A survey conducted by the Dream Maker Foundation since May also revealed many households living in unstable, degraded, and leaky homes, while some schools lacked essential facilities.

Mr. Tran Cong Dinh, representing the recipient households, stated that his family previously lived in a dilapidated house, constantly worrying about water splashing in and a leaky roof during storms. The support of a new home provides his family with peace of mind, reduces their burden, and offers renewed motivation to improve their lives.

Major General Tran Van Toan, Deputy Chief of Office of the Investigation Police Agency - Ministry of Public Security, recognized the partnership of the Dream Maker Foundation and VNG Corporation in social welfare activities in Ca Mau. According to Mr. Toan, the program offers not only material support but also helps fulfill the aspirations for safe homes and proper schools for disadvantaged residents and children. The simultaneous implementation of housing, school, and civil infrastructure projects ensures the support closely aligns with local needs. He assessed that the handed-over projects demonstrate the corporate social responsibility of businesses and reflect solidarity with residents in areas still facing many challenges.

According to Ms. Truong Cam Thanh, Chairwoman of the Management Board and Director of the Dream Maker Foundation, based on the actual needs in Ca Mau, the foundation opted to implement housing, education, and civil infrastructure projects simultaneously to improve residents' living, learning, and daily conditions. The foundation hopes to replicate this approach in other disadvantaged areas, helping more families secure stable housing and enabling children to learn in decent, safe environments.

The program is part of a series of activities responding to the movement "All the nation joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind," and also commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Investigation Police Agency Office (31/12/1951-31/12/2026).

According to the Dream Maker Foundation, as of August this year, the organization has collaborated with various ministries, sectors, and localities to implement education and social welfare programs in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Hue, Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Ca Mau, and the Truong Sa (Spratly Islands) special zone, with a total expenditure exceeding 15 billion VND.
