Sales open for 300,000 Tet train tickets, prices up to nearly 4 million dong

Approximately 300,000 Tet Dinh Mui 2027 train tickets were put on sale by the railway sector from the morning of 5/9, with tickets for the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route priced at nearly 2.5-4 million dong, an increase of 4-8% compared to last year.

The railway sector has opened sales for approximately 300,000 Tet Dinh Mui 2027 train tickets, with the highest fares reaching nearly 4 million dong. Sales began at 8h on 5/9 at stations, official agencies, and online channels. Tickets for the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route are priced between 2.5 and 4 million dong, marking a 4-8% increase from last year's fares.

Each passenger is permitted to purchase a maximum of 10 one-way tickets and 10 return tickets. For collective bookings, the railway sector had previously accepted registrations, prioritizing armed forces, universities, colleges, industrial parks, and export processing zones.

According to the operational plan, from 23/1 to 25/2/2027 (the 16th day of the 12th lunar month to the 20th day of the 1st lunar month), the railway sector will operate 57 train sets comprising over 800 carriages, providing approximately 300,000 tickets. Additional trains will be deployed if passenger demand rises significantly.

To accommodate the increased travel demand during the Tet holiday, the railway sector is enhancing its services. In addition to the seven daily Thong Nhat train pairs, two additional train pairs will operate on the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route. Furthermore, 11 pairs will be added to short routes experiencing high demand, including Saigon - Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet. In the North and Central regions, trains will be supplemented on routes such as Hanoi - Phu Ly, Vinh, Da Nang; and Hue - Da Nang. Popular routes will also see increased train services throughout the holiday period.

This year's Tet ticket prices have increased by 4-8% compared to the same period last year, with the exact fare depending on the travel date, carriage type, and specific train. For instance, the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route is priced at nearly 2.5-4 million dong. Passengers seeking private space can opt for certain VIP compartments, which cost approximately 7.9 million dong per berth.

Various passenger groups are eligible for discounts. Those who purchase tickets 10 days in advance for journeys exceeding 900 km will receive a 5-20% discount. Groups of 11 or more people qualify for a 2-12% reduction, while round-trip ticket purchasers receive a 5% discount on the return leg. Students are offered a 10-20% discount. Policy beneficiaries, including heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, people with disabilities, and children aged six to under 10 years, will continue to receive regulated discounts.

The railway sector advises passengers to purchase tickets exclusively at stations, official agencies, or through authorized online channels. Passengers should use personal identification to benefit from preferential rates and to avoid buying from "ticket touts". Tickets are also conveniently available through popular e-wallets.
