The explosion affected three adjacent houses. The blast site was littered with debris, and furniture was scattered. The two neighboring houses sustained damage, including bent corrugated iron roofs.
Hoang Lan, who lives near the scene, reported that the explosion caused her doors and walls to shake. "My shelves and furniture vibrated, and I felt myself sway while lying in bed", she said.
Do Dang Ai, Chairman of An Phu Dong Ward People's Committee, stated that initial investigations indicated a gas leak from a household's gas cylinder led to gas accumulation inside the house. Early that morning, an electrical spark from the homeowner turning on a water pump ignited the gas, causing the explosion. The two victims sustained minor injuries and were discharged from Military Hospital 175 after a health check.
